The pandemic has cancelled art sales and closed some businesses where my art was displayed. Your purchases help me reduce inventory and support my creation of new art.

During this pandemic “shelter in place” I have had plenty of time to create.  My  goal is to produce a piece of art each day.  Some of my work during this time has been a reflection on the personal impact of the pandemic and social isolation. Other pieces are impressions of the natural beauty that abounds …lots of flowers! All of it is therapeutic. I will be adding a page titled, “Pandemic” which will include a chronological display of art and reflections.

While traveling through Trinidad, Colorado today I meta sweet little dog who is the “greeter” in a lovely Antiques and more shop on Commercial Street, Maggie & Moz. The owner, Maggie asked me to do a sketch of her dog, Gus.

I found out today that I have been selected to be one of 200 artists participating in Art in the Park in Richland, WA on July 26-27

“Every summer for decades thousands of people look forward to the annual Art in the Park. This two-day festival is located in beautiful Howard Amon Park on the Columbia River in Richland, Washington, and attracts hundreds of regional and national artists and an estimated 30,000+ visitors. For the past 68 years, Art in the Park artists have showcased the best of clay, fiber, sculpture, painting, jewelry, photography and many other art forms. This event is a fun, family friendly show featuring local musicians, food vendors and park activities. We are proud to host fantastic visual and performing artists and create a much loved community experience!

Art in the Park is a fundraiser for the Allied Arts Association and The Gallery at the Park, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that believes a vibrant community deserves a rich variety of visual arts opportunities and promotes appreciation for the arts, changing exhibits, art education and scholarships.”

As I clean out my flower beds this month I am anticipating Summer blossoms.

Mica Napping $50

I am going to be one of the featured artist at ArtScape Studios , 3 West Poplar Street, Walla Walla, WA for the August 3rd First Friday Art Walk, sponsored by ART Walla.  I will have 12 + paintings on display and for sale.  I will also be selling prints and cards at the event.   One third of the proceeds will benefit Art Walla events and educational programs.  Please come and support me and the arts!

Last Saturday I volunteered at the Blue Mountain Humane Society Open House.  I sketched dogs and cats for people from a cell phone picture or the actual animal wiggling around.  It was a fun challenge to try to create a likeness in just a few minutes.  A few of my attempts are pictured.
